we must form an association and pay lobyists to petition the europeon parliament that all new cars use the same software at the same baud rate with the same pins ect ,if we dont then their will not be a general garage left in ten yrs time when all the older cars are scrapped.digitally encrypted software is being used already which is why we are on this site to look for something we can use for the newer cars but no matter how good some of these technical software writers are they cannot break into the coding used on say a renault or a VW .Digital signature confirmed phoned lines and fingerprint recognition in the dealers means that software is not kept in the garage for a light fingered mechanic to copy and put on a torrent site for the rest of us.Before long evan servicing a new car will be beyond the realms of anyone as a sensor cuts in the immobiliser.Change brake pads ?? or any other job will be impossible and its happening faster than you think as when these new cars with modules and no wiring hit the market just taking the door panel off to change an electric window winder unit will engage the cars immobiliser. So unless we unite and demand changes like the american freedom of information act we might as well re -train for other work where a computer cannot be used like say plastering or bricklaying. This software lark will also ensure that only the bosses son or the blue eyed boy gets the easy job of diagnostics while the rest of the mechanics are left out and only told what to change.then paid a semi skilled rate or evan a labourers rate for putting up with crap under nails and being looked down upon if you socialise anywhere as only a unit changer/stroke grease monkey.IAM GETTING NEAR RETIREMENT AGE BUT DONT SAY I HAVENT WARNED YOU.
