Digimoto Lite, similar to the PPC software, will only communicate to the ELM327 chip if it is running at 9600kbps. These limitations do not exist in our Digimoto 5.0 software, which fully support the ELM327 chipset.

| IMO it was a bad idea not to make the lite version compatible with all ELM interfaces. ELM is a very popular interface. I am certainly not going to buy 5 when I cant even test the lite version. You should certainly considering releasing a version compatible with all ELM platforms.

You can switch ElmScan 5 USB back to 9600 baud. Pop the case open, and remove jumper #2 (the middle one). Here's a jumper diagram for ElmScan 5:

I agree with the statement regarding a lite version of 5 (it was always our intention). There are some updates we will be making to the software shortly and I will push for a lite version, based on our latest source, to be released along with these updates.

| Hi, I had same problem, cause might be different but the answer for me was to go into Windows Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manger, Ports and then right click on USB Serial Port which appeared at the bottom of my list of Comm Ports, choose Properties , Advanced which allowed me to set it as Comm 1 (or choose whatever is unused on your PC. The above assumes you are using a USB Elm interface and have installed the drivers correctly. If they did not install you will find that one of the USB ports will have a large yellow question mark against it when you look at it in control panel, system, hardware, device manager. If this is the case (it was for me on first install), delete it and re-install making sure you point windowers at the drivers on your cd when you load the software for your Elm interface. Good luck, Regards, David
