| Hello all! Since I have upgraded to Digimoto v5, I shortly thereafter started to have issues in getting my Toshiba Portege 3500 notebook (WinXP SP2, Tablet PC Ed.) to detect the mOByDic USB device. After following the installation instructions several times, I have made several unsuccessful attempts to get the mOByDic USB device to work. It should be noted that it has worked before however I recall after upgrading I started to experience issues. There seems to be an issue in getting Windows to communicate with the mOByDic USB device therefore I have ben trying to uninstall the FTDI USB Serial Converter Drivers using Add/Remove programs however when I click to remove, the Add/Remove Programs window flickers once and does nothing. Essentially it appears to not engage any uninstallation process no matter what I try. After visiting www.ftdichip.com website, I obtained an Install Guide that also has an uninstallation section (#3) and I attempted to follow that however it prompts me to utilize Add/Remove Programs which does not work for removing the FTDI USB Serial Converter Drivers. Please let me know if there is another utility or procedure that is available to manually flush out the FTDI USB Serial Converter Drivers. I really enjoy using Digimoto since it has saved me countless times while on the road and has even helped me get a few phone numbers from some stranded hot women on the side of the road! Please help me get Digimoto working again on my notebook...I miss it! Regards, Robert A. Segovia, B.S.

| On you Digimoto CD there should be a folder called mOByDic USB Drivers, open the folder for 2000, XP, and VISTA. there will be a file called FTDIUNIN.exe. Run that program to uninstall the drivers.

| Donna, Thank you for the reply however when I attempt to utilize the FTDIUNIN.EXE file from the CD, I get the same type of window flicker however nothing initiates and the files still remain on my notebook. Please let me know if you have any other way of possibly manual flushing out the driver from my notebook. Thank you and I appreciate your time. Regards, Robert

| I am going to have to do more research on this one, but I think you can force a reinstall of the drivers without deleting them and that should repair them if they went bad.

| This is a follow up on my initial posting to see if there is anything I do to manually flush out the driver for the USB mObYdIc device that I am trying to get my laptop to detect. This issue has gone on for long enough now and I am trying to be as patient as possible however I have not received any follow up on this issue. Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

| Donna, In response to your last reply, I have tried to reinstall the driver thinking that it would repair the bad files and this did not work. Please let me know what else can be done to get the mOByDic device to detect again on my laptop. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Robert Segovia, B.S.

The uninstaller was broken by windows update KB923191. The workaround is to go to the system 32 folder, right click on the ftdiunin.exe to bring up the properties window. In this window select the compatibility tab and change mode to windows 2000. Now run the uninstaller.

| Joel, Thank you for the reply however I did not need to try this since I received my USB adapter back from you folks. Apparently, the USB adapter that I had was defective and repaired or replaced by Digimoto. This issue has been resolved and I wanted to thank Digimoto for the ongoing support. I really appreciate it.
