I have VW Golf IV '99,but doesn't conect with ELM 327! Help me please!!

iam serious vw tech& know my stuff ,you really need to be looking at iso 9141&-2  interface & soft if you are going to be doing your own work.theres lots out there like vagcom that are good toools for vw's

you may want to try changing some of the settings on the connection screen.  Please try the procedure below.

1.       Turn on your car.

2.       Plug your scan tool  into your computer and then the OBDII port.

3.       Open the Digimoto software and go to CONNECTION, HARDWARE SETTINGS.

4.       Choose  ELM, then at the bottom above COM TIMEOUT, check the box for HEADERLESS.  Then change the COM Timeout to 10. 

5.       Click AUOT DETECT COM PORT.  It will seem as if it is crawling while it is searching the COM Ports, that is normal.  Let me know if you are able to connect.   donna@digimoto.com
